A tag cloud is a widget that automatically shows the most frequently used tags on your website. When readers click on one of the tags, they see a list of all posts that include it, so tag clouds are another way for visitors to to navigate your site.

Tag clouds are commonly used in a sidebar. In the default tag cloud widget that is built in to WordPress, the font size is larger for the tags that are used most often. In self-hosted WordPress, tag cloud widgets are available which allow you to customize the number, color and layout of tags.
